# Moonstone Media > Moonstone Media helps small and mid-size businesses put AI to work on what their company actually knows. Four services: an AI assessment that finds where AI would pay off, a knowledge base build that structures what the business knows into one source of truth, managed agents that run on it, and custom AI implementation for everything else. Led by founder Phil Derksen, who founded, ran, and sold a software company, so the person you talk to is the person leading the build. One line: AI that knows your business. The idea underneath: your knowledge first, then the AI. Off-the-shelf AI has never seen your pricing, your process, or how your team handles things, which is why it hands back answers that could be for anyone. Give it what your business knows and it starts sounding like your business. Each service stands on its own. In the order a client usually meets them they form one path (Assess, Structure, Build, Manage), and a client can stop after any step and keep what they paid for. Every engagement is measured against one of three outcomes: more revenue, hours returned to the week, or a better customer experience. The site is one page plus legal pages. ## Core pages - [Home](https://moonstonemediagroup.com/): the problem, four services, what it returns, how we work, FAQ, and a contact form. - [Privacy Policy](https://moonstonemediagroup.com/privacy): how Moonstone Media collects, uses, and protects visitor and customer data, including SMS opt-in and TCPA compliance. - [Terms of Service](https://moonstonemediagroup.com/terms): terms governing use of the site, SMS messaging program, intellectual property, and disclaimers. - [Accessibility](https://moonstonemediagroup.com/accessibility): the standard the site is built to and how to report something that blocks you. ## The problem Most businesses are stuck at the same three places. They don't know where to start: everyone says AI, and nobody says where in the business it would pay off, or whether it would at all. What they've tried didn't know them: off-the-shelf AI has never seen their pricing, their process, or how they handle the difficult customer, so it hands back answers that could be for anyone. And nobody has time to run it: a tool that needs babysitting is a second job for whoever gets stuck with it, and it's the first thing that gets dropped. The assessment answers the first. The knowledge base fixes the second. Managed agents and custom builds take care of the third. ## Services - AI Assessment (start here): A 45 to 60 minute working session, then a written report with opportunities ranked by impact and effort, ROI on the top few, quick wins you can act on that week, and a roadmap that ends in a Phase 1 proposal. If AI isn't worth it for you yet, the report says so and you keep it. - Knowledge Base Build (the foundation): We turn what the business knows into one structured source of truth: policies, pricing, process, past decisions, the way the team answers questions. Built so both people and AI can use it. It stays with you. Everything else we build reads from it. - Managed Agents (ongoing): AI agents that run on the knowledge base, each with one defined job: handling inbound inquiries, keeping quotes and follow-ups moving, and keeping the knowledge base current as the business changes. We build them, run them, and keep them working. - AI Implementation (custom): Everything custom, built and supported by us: the CRM connected to the quoting tool, the intake that gets re-typed into three systems, the internal tool that replaces the spreadsheet, and software for the specific problem the assessment found. ## What it returns Every service is measured on one of three outcomes, and if a build wouldn't return one of them, the report says so and it doesn't get built. - More revenue: Inquiries answered while they're still warm, quotes and follow-ups that don't stall, and the work that wins business getting done sooner. - Hours back in the week: The repeated work that eats your day and your team's, handled so nobody has to. Time that goes back into the business, or stays yours. - A better customer experience: Answers that are accurate the first time and sound like your business, whoever asks and whenever they ask. ## How we work - Knowledge base before agents: Nothing gets built until what your business knows is structured and written down. Every agent and tool reads from that one source, so it answers the way you would. - One job per agent: Each agent handles a single, defined task and is measured on it. Small scope is easier to trust, easier to check, and easier to fix when the business changes. - You own everything: The report, the knowledge base, and the documentation on anything built are yours. Stop at any step and keep all of it. ## Who does the work Phil Derksen, Founder & Chief AI Officer, in his own words: I founded a software company, ran it, and sold it. That meant hiring, selling, supporting customers, and running the operations. Before and during that company I wrote and shipped software for a living, and I still do. When AI became useful for real work, I did what I've always done and built with it. I use it every day, so what I recommend comes from what I've seen work in a real business rather than from a slide deck. For your business, that comes down to three things. I find where AI would return revenue, hours, or a better customer experience, and I tell you plainly if it wouldn't yet. I structure what your business knows into one source of truth, so the AI answers the way you would. And I build the agents and tools that run on it, then keep them working so none of it becomes your job. The measure is what it returns, not whether it demos well. I run the assessment and lead every build myself. Nothing gets handed to a dev shop, and there's no account manager between us. ## Frequently asked questions - Who is this for? Small and mid-size businesses, and the owners and operations people who run them. Usually the business runs on knowledge that isn't written down anywhere useful, someone has tried ChatGPT and it didn't know a thing about them, and nobody wants to learn new software or hire someone to do AI. If you want to know what AI would change in your business, and then want it built and running without it becoming your job, that's who this is for. - What does this cost? The assessment is a fixed price, quoted when you get in touch. Everything after it is scoped from the report, so you know the number before any work starts. Managed agents run on a monthly retainer. - What happens in the assessment? A 45 to 60 minute working session with the owner and whoever runs operations, walking through how the business runs, where its knowledge lives, and where time or revenue is leaking. Then the written report, with a Phase 1 proposal at the end. Scattered, undocumented knowledge is the normal starting point, so don't tidy up before we talk. - Do you just advise, or do you build it too? Both, and we run it. The assessment ends in a proposal, and the same person who ran it leads the build of the knowledge base, the agents, and the custom work, then keeps it working. You're not handed a report and a list of vendors. - Do we have to start with the assessment? No. Each service stands on its own, and if you already know what you need, say so. Most builds still start with the assessment because it's what decides what to build first and what it should return. - Does our team need to learn anything? No. We do the setup, the building, and the ongoing management. When something needs to change, you tell us in plain language. - What tools do you use? Whichever fit the job. We're not tied to one platform, and the tool names matter less than whether the thing works and keeps working. If you already use something, we'd rather build with it than replace it. - How long until something is running? First builds ship in weeks because they start with the single highest-value item from the roadmap. Timeline and cost are set in the assessment. - Who owns the knowledge base? You do, and only you. It isn't pooled with other clients' data, it isn't used to train anything, and you control who can get to it, including us. If we stop working together, you keep the report, the knowledge base, and the documentation on anything built. - What if AI isn't worth it for us? Then the report says so, with the reasoning, and you keep it. Some businesses get a short list of quick wins they can do themselves and nothing else. That's a good outcome. ## Contact - The contact form on the home page is the way to get in touch, for a question or a new project. It has a checkbox for anyone who already knows they want the assessment. Replies within one business day. - Email: hello@moonstonemediagroup.com - Website: https://moonstonemediagroup.com
